Terms of service

1. Acceptance

By accessing TryHackThisBitch.com ("the site") you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, close the tab. The tab will be mildly offended.

2. What the site is

The site provides ethical-hacking education: interactive, sandboxed challenges, tool guides, daily challenges, an on-device learning agent, and gamified progress tracking. Everything runs client-side or inside our own demo environment. The site is not a hacking service, a proxy, a botnet census, or your personal arsenal.

3. What you may do

• Use the challenges, dailies, guides, and engine for learning.
• Practice techniques from the site only on systems you own or are explicitly authorized to test in writing.
• Run the site's code locally, fork the public educational assets in accordance with our repo license, and build your skills.

4. What you may NOT do

• Use anything on this site to probe, attack, or gain unauthorized access to any system you do not own or lack explicit authorization to test.
• Use the site to harm, harass, defraud, or disrupt anyone or anything.
• Circumvent any technical protection, or attempt to subvert the site's sandbox or hosting.
• Represent this site as endorsing, enabling, or providing unauthorized attacks. It emphatically does not.
• Scrape or bulk-harvest the site in a way that harms operations.

5. Accounts and warranty

Accounts are voluntary and optional — create one only if you want your progress to follow you across devices. You're responsible for the password you choose and for keeping your session private. Progress you push to the cloud is synced explicitly (no silent merges); you can erase your account and its cloud data at any time from the account page. All content is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We're not liable for anything you do with what you learn here — that's the entire point. The skills are yours; the judgment is yours; the consequences, legally, are yours.

6. Pro tier / future paid features

If and when a paid tier ships (Stripe integration), specific paid-subscription terms will be presented at checkout and will apply to that product. This page will be updated before any payment feature goes live.

7. Intellectual property

The site design, brand, challenge content, and code are owned by the site operator (see the approved public assets in the GitHub repository for what is licensed for reuse; by default: don't clone the brand, do learn from the code). Your solutions to challenges are yours, but the challenges themselves remain ours to update, fix, or remove.

8. Conduct & community

If we later add community features (leaderboards are already local-only today), you agree to be civil. Being good at hacking isn't a license to be a jerk.

9. The line we will not cross — and neither will you

No "wars" against real third-party systems will ever be run, promoted, or blessed from this site. Anyone using this content to attack real victims is on their own, and we may cooperate with law enforcement to the extent we have anything to cooperate with (spoiler: local storage is not something we can see).

10. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by applicable law where the site operator resides. Any disputes are limited to our local jurisdiction. Because there's no money moving, the most likely dispute is about a typo in a hint, which we'll fix cheerfully.

11. Termination

We can refuse service to anyone, for any reason, at any time — especially people who attack real systems and then blame a tutorial website. Your local progress stays yours regardless.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes get a new date below. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
